Brent Smith and Zach Myers Debut 'Smith & Myers'
The lifelong musicians have a new sound!
You know Brent Smith and Zach Myers from their classic songs as part of multi-platinum band, Shinedown.
Now, the duo is releasing new music as part of the duo, Smith & Myers. The pair have a couple new albums coming out this fall!
"We didn't walk into it to do a Shinedown acoustic album," Brent Smith said.
Smith & Myers' Volume One album is available now, with the album including five original songs and five cover songs.
The album features an original song, "Not Mad Enough," which brings a powerful message on racial injustice in America. Along with original material, Volume One features five re-imaginings of well-known songs, including Post Malone's "Better Now," INXS' "Never Tear Us Apart," Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse's "Valerie," The Righteous Brothers' "Unchained Melody," and Neil Young's "Rockin' In The Free World."
"For me, 'Volume One' is some of my favorite stuff that we've ever written. I just kind of hope people kind of take it and wear it as a pin on their chest, as to whatever song helps them," Zach Myers said.
The duo also had a hilarious take on their unique cover of Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy," which will be included in Volume Two, out October 23rd!
"At the end of the day, it's supposed to be fun, and you want to make people smile when they listen to your music," Smith said.
Volume Two will also feature five original songs and five covers including Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy," Oasis's "Don't Look Back In Anger," Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer," Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell," and R.E.M.'s "Losing My Religion."
