Wendy Williams has been dealing with ailments, so a permanent guest host has been set.
Former co-host of The View Sherri Shepherd will be taking Wendy Williams' place as the "permanent guest host," multiple sources confirm to TMZ. Shepherd has a background of being guest hosts and contestants on shows such as Rachael Ray and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
Williams has had a bunch of celebrities like Jerry Springer, Whitney Cummings, Leah Remini and Bill Bellamy take over for her spot in the past just like Shepherd, but she was the biggest frontrunner to the producers.
Williams has been away from the show due to difficulties regarding her health. She is currently suffering from a thyroid condition and Graves disease. If she were to make a return, though, she would "clean house" because she feels betrayed by her staff.
On the other hand, Shepherd can't wait to sign a deal and expects take control of the show by September. Another bad note for Williams is,
"If, however, it appears she is unable to return, then they would change the name of the show as early as September...which will mark the 15th season of the show."
