Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have been making headlines throughout their whirlwind relationship. Now it turns out, the harshest critics were always at home.

The May 5 episode of Hulu's "The Kardashians" gave a detailed look into Barker's romantic proposal at at the Rosewood Miramar hotel, and all the drama that happened around it.

Barker proposed to Kardashian on the beach, and while what he said wasn't recorded for the cameras, Kardashian shared in a confessional,

"I feel like I'm living in a fairytale. I couldn't have dreamed of anything more perfect. I've never in my whole life dreamt of getting married until Travis and until this relationship."

The couple then joined the Kardashian-Jenners, along with Barker's three children (ages sixteen, eighteen, and twenty-three), for a celebration dinner. Kardashian didn't want her kids with ex Scott Disick to find out through the internet, so she left the dinner table to FaceTime them.

What happened next was heartbreaking, as Kardashian's nine-year-old daughter broke down crying and demanded,

"Hang up."

In a confessional, Kardashian explained that her daughter took the news "hard," adding,

"I think it's a big change for her. And even though she loves Travis, I think she doesn't know what that means. Like, you know, is that taking me away?"

Though her seven-year-old son didn't break down crying, he did call the engagement news "not exciting." Her twelve-year-old would not answer her calls.

It was Kris Jenner's decision not to invite the younger children, as she felt they "wouldn't understand," and she didn't want to lie to Disick about the proposal. As for how he reacted to the news, Khloe Kardashian claimed that he said,

"You guys are gonna kick me out now. I'm not involved in the family."

When the family lingered on Disick for too long, Kim Kardashian jumped in to shut the conversation down, saying,

"Are we so f--king crazy that we're talking about [him]? Can we talk about this tomorrow and let them enjoy their night?"

The subject was dropped, and the family went on to celebrate the proposal.

New episodes of "The Kardashians" air Thursdays on Hulu.
