Arnold Schwarzenegger is not only notorious for his acting career but also his time in office as former Governor of California. He recently spoke out on the recent news that Caitlyn Jenner is looking to run, and here is what he had to say.
Schwarzenegger took to Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday to share his thoughts. He started by mentioning that many Californians are so disgruntled with the current governor, Gavin Newsom, and essentially anyone who runs will have a shot.
"Anyone has a chance because the people are dissatisfied with what's going on here in California," he said. "I hope as many people as possible [jump into the] race."
Jenner's intention is to remove the current governor and take over herself.
Having been the governor of the golden state between the years 2003 and 2011, Schwarzenegger knows what he's talking about. "The key thing about all of this is it doesn't matter if it's Caitlyn or anyone else—to have a clear vision of where you want to go, what are the kind of changes you want to make, and why are you qualified to become governor?"
He also went on to say that it matters not who you are but what you stand for. "That's what you have to convince the people. All the other stuff is all nonsense because the press will attack you no matter who you are. They attacked me but then, in the end, I won so that was the main thing."
He also went on to say that he is fond of the candidate, telling Jimmy, "I am very good friends with Caitlyn. I have the utmost respect for her."
Schwarzenegger also mentioned that he predicts another 100 or so candidates will probably run for this next election, much to Kimmel's surprise.
We are loving his support for his friend Caitlyn.
