Saved by the Bell star Dustin Diamond, known for his role of "Screech," has recently been hospitalized due to Stage Four cancer.
Diamond's representative shared to CNN the "severe" state that Diamond remains in at an undisclosed hospital in Florida receiving treatment. On Thursday, his former co-star and Access Hollywood host Mario Lopez took to Twitter to update many concerned fans.
"I connected with Dustin earlier this evening and although the news of his diagnosis is heartbreaking, we remain positive that he'll overcome this. Praying for him & his family and for a speedy recovery. God Bless"
Lopez, along with many supporters of the actor, are spreading positivity and well wishes for Diamond's health. The star is undergoing chemotherapy and will remain at the hospital for at least another week with the hopes that he can return home. Dustin's team announced his diagnosis on a Facebook page without revealing the type of cancer he is battling. They reassured fans, however, that:
"Dustin will disclose more information once it is available and a plan moving forward is made."
Saved by the Bell was rebooted on NBC's Peacock in 2020 without Diamond's present. His other five leading cast members star in the series. This includes Mario Lopez, Jessie Spano, Zack Morris, Kelly Kapowski and Lisa Turtle.
We are sending well wishes to the star for a speedy recovery.
