New Orleans Saint (in both meanings of the word) Michael Thomas contributed $20,000 to the nonprofit group RIP Medical Debt. The group works to aid individuals who cannot afford their bills, and with the help of Thomas, the organization will bring $2.3 million in coronavirus relief to New Orleans.

The Los Angeles native also recently bought lunch for medical personnel at a New Orleans hospital. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, Louisiana has been hit with over 43,000 cases and about 2,831 related deaths. Thomas, who set an NFL record 149 catches last season, gave a comment to Sports Illustrated, saying:
"I hope these families get a little relief in knowing their medical bills have been taken care of during these very difficult time."
