Inside Look: Ryan Gosling and Claire Foy in ‘First Man’
We’ve always known that Ryan Gosling is a stellar actor, but he’s making it official in First Man.
He plays Neil Armstrong, the man who invented the moon walk in 1969 as the first human being to set foot on a cosmic body beyond the planet Earth.
“This achievement made everyone feel what we were capable of if there was enough of a collective interest to accomplish one thing; we could accomplish impossible things.” - Ryan Gosling
The film focuses on the the eight year lead-up to the historic moon landing, including the grueling training process that early astronauts endured, tragic setbacks, and the support of family throughout this monumental exercise.
Claire Foy plays Neil Armstrong’s wife Janet. Through her eyes, the film demonstrates the personal toll that was paid by her husband and their family as they transitioned from normal lives to the extraordinary.
“They were extraordinary people who lived their lives out of their own self-interests for a higher ideal.” - Ryan Gosling
First Man takes one giant leap into theaters on October 12.
