Former NBA guard Rex Chapman has announced that he's joining the newly-created streaming service CNN+ as a host.

If you don't know who Chapman is, well his career will speak volumes. The 54-year-old former professional basketball player was a star on the Kentucky Wildcats. Standing at 6'4" and averaging 17.6 points per game, his accolades consisted of making the McDonald's All-American team, the All-SEC first team twice, and earning Gatorade State player of the year.

Chapman played for two years in college, being an absolute force in the basketball domain. He decided to continue his career by declaring for the NBA Draft in 1988, a top ten first round pick out of Bowling Green, Kentucky. He played for the Charlotte Hornets, Washington Bullets, Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns throughout a span of 12 seasons.

Chapman later became a color commentator for TNT and gathered a strong social media presence, obtaining over 1 million followers on Twitter. This success allowed him to create two podcasts, Charges with Rex Chapman and The Rex Chapman Show with Josh Hopkins.

He also got to host Adult Swim's Block or Charge, which the show was based off his viral tweets. Now, he gets another opportunity at stardom due to his new job as host for CNN+. According to CNN Press Room,

"Chapman’s weekly CNN+ show will include intimate conversations with athletes, entertainers and everyday heroes as Chapman looks for the silver lining beyond today’s toughest headlines."

The streaming subscription service is looking to launch sometime this Spring.
