From exclusive concert access to private plane rides, Scott Carty got a taste of the rock star life ahead of his interview with the cast of Bohemian Rhapsody.
Queen Biopic: Bohemian Rhapsody
As the iconic frontman of Queen, Freddie Mercury left a long shadow. We asked Rami Malek, the actor fitted for Mercury’s shoes, if he ever imagined himself in this position.
“I don’t think anyone imagines that they’re ever going to play Freddie Mercury,” admitted Malek. “He is, to me, the greatest frontman that’s ever lived, so to portray him in this film is the greatest honor I could ever ask for.”
Anyone who has seen the trailer for this film has experienced a sample of its reproduction of Queen's famous Wembley performance. As day one of shooting, we asked how the cast tackled this monumental moment.
“We had to know it beat for beat, move for move — I mean, everything.” - Joseph Mazzello
While the cast has been tasked with learning the looks, the moves, the instruments, the songs, and the accents, a whole new generation is about to learn about this band's music, accomplishments, and lasting impact from their movie.
If Gwilym Lee's experience is any indication, Queen is going to become a favorite of younger audiences.
“It’s already happened. My nieces and nephews are obsessed with Queen.” - Gwilym Lee
Bohemian Rhapsody will rock you in theaters this November 2nd.
