The second Black Panther movie has begun its production process at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta.

Black Panther became Marvel's largest grossing movie aside from the Avengers: Endgame upon its release in 2018 and won several awards including three Oscars. The sequel was announced in 2019; then last year in 2020, Chadwick Boseman who played Black Panther in the movie, sadly passed away due to cancer. Fans were shocked by the news as he had kept his battle with cancer private.

At the Black WidowGlobal Fan Event, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said, "It's clearly very emotional without Chad," he continued, "But everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans. We're going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud."

According to Feige, the rest of the cast is expected to be coming back for the sequel including Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, and Letitia Wright, along with director Ryan Coogler.

So far, we don't have many details confirmed about the plot of the movie, although an unofficial logline was released a few days ago via Production Weekly. Marvel Studios has not verified the information to be true.

The film is scheduled to premiere about a year from Thursday on July 8, 2022.
