Prince William Celebrates Turning 39, Royal Family Honors Him On Social Media

After celebrating Father's Day this weekend at Sandringham Estate, Prince William turned 39 on Monday and his royal family took to social media to wish him a happy birthday, sharing a collection of rare glimpses of the royal family.

Queen Elizabeth II II commemorated her grandson Prince William on The Royal Family Twitter account:

"🎈Wishing The Duke of Cambridge a very Happy Birthday today! #HappyBirthdayHR"

The Queen shared solo shot throwbacks of the Duke of Cambridge, as well as with his three children Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis 3 and wife Kate on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the annual Trooping Colour Parade. Another picture featured the Duke and Duchess laughing together at the Lawn Tennis Association Youth program while on the Cambridges' May tour of Scotland.

Father of Prince William, Prince Charles also honored his eldest son on the official Clarence House Instagram page posting:

"Wishing The Duke of Cambridge a very Happy Birthday today! 🎂"

The photos featured Prince William as a baby with his father and a recent photo of The Duke of Cambridge with his father and step-mother Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Prince William then took to Instagram to show gratitude for the overpour of birthday wishes he received from friends, fans and family on the official Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Account:

"Thank you for all the birthday wishes and kind messages 🎂"

On July 1 a statue will be unveiled of the late Princess Diana of Wales, mother of Prince William in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace. The statue will mark what would have been the Princess' 60 birthday.
