The President of the United States has announced on Twitter that he and the First Lady have contracted the potentially deadly virus.
Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!

Donald Trump, 74, tweeting about the positive test result just hours after one of his advisors, Hope Hicks, had tested positive. The President, seemingly taking the situation seriously, telling his Twitter followers, "We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!"
As too many Americans have done this year, @potus & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19. We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements. Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together.

Melania Trump, also tweeting that she and the President have contracted the coronavirus stating, "As too many Americans have done this year, @potus & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19. We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements. Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together."
The President's doctor, Sean Conley, telling The White House in a memo, "Rest assured I expect the president to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any future developments."
The White House has canceled all of the President's scheduled engagements for today.
Former Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, have tested negative for the virus.
On Friday evening, President Trump was airlifted to Walter Reed Medical Center via Marine One helicopter "out of an abundance of caution," according to White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
