Oscar's 2019: The Top 5 Best Moments
Queen and Adam Lambert Open the Show
It might be impossible to stay seated while the legendary group Queen sings their hit “We Will Rock You” with Adam Lambert on vocals. This theory was not disproven last night.
The audience remains on their feet for the entirety of the iconic song, until “We Are the Champions" begins: at this point, the now-seated audience sways their arms in unison.

Melissa McCarthy's Bunny Cape
Talk about a grand entrance! Melissa McCarthy and Brian Tyree Henry announce Ruth E. Carter as the first African American woman to win the costume design award for for Black Panther in, err, style.
Fans of The Favourite might recognize the stuffed bunnies covering Melissa McCarthy's cape as Queen Anne's many pet rabbits, but the getup is actually a medley of all of the nominated movies: Black Panther, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, The Favourite, Mary Poppins Returns, and Mary Queen of Scots. However "out there" their own costumes are, McCarthy and Henry's respect for costumers is sincere. McCarthy deadpanned, while moving the mouth of a stuffed rabbit with her hand as the audience giggled:
"These artists create a pastiche of textiles with authenticity yet never distract from the story."

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's "Shallow" Performance
The performance we've all been waiting for begins in the best possible way: as the opening instrumentals for "Shallow" start (the song, at this point, does not need an introduction), Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper stand from where they are seated next to each other in the audience and make their way to the stage together, hand in hand. The performance, which is shot entirely from upstage and with the audience acting as a backdrop, is everything fans of the pair's onscreen and offscreen relationship expected: intimate, passionate, and seething with chemistry.
Here's hoping the duo will remain close now that awards season is over! (Photo: E! Online)
Lady Gaga Adjusted Rami Malik's Bowtie
Speaking of Best Original Song winner Lady Gaga, did you catch when she took a moment to straighten Best Lead Actor Rami Malik's bowtie? It's times like these when we're glad the cameras are always watching! (Photo: Insider)
Olivia Colman Best Lead Actress
Now this is an upset we can get behind! Olivia Colman's win for Best Lead Actress might be the biggest surprise of the night—and it seems the The Favourite star would agree! "This is hilarious," the actress begins her acceptance speech, chuckling. "I've got an Oscar!" She continues:
"Glenn Close, you have been my idol for so long, and this is not how I wanted it to be!" Colman said, to which Close smiled and shook her head playfully. "To any little girl who's practicing their speech on the telly, you never know!"
