The Academy Releases New Information About This Year's Oscars

Oscar's announcement about the famous award show!

The Oscars are getting close and the Academy has released a statement regarding information about the live show this year.

On Thursday, nominees have received a letter by the Academy about the live event of the Oscars, something we've all been waiting for. The letter stated that the nominees are obligated to attend, without the possibility to use Zoom as it had oppositely happened with the Golden Globes.

The reason for making this decision is specified in the letter:

"We are going to great lengths to provide a safe and ENJOYABLE evening for all of you in person, as well as for all the millions of film fans around the world, and we feel the virtual thing will diminish those efforts."

If someone has the honor to win the Oscar, the Academy will accept the recognition on behalf of the winner. Safety measures will be a top priority throughout the night with active testing and COVID safety team available at any time.

But the Academy was also very clear about another topic: dressing. During the Golden Globes, actors and actresses received their awards from their own homes and, some of them, decided to wear more comfortable clothes. The Academy won't allow that to happen for the Oscars.

"We're aiming for a fusion of Inspirational and Aspirational, which in actual words means formal is totally cool if you want to go there, but casual is really not."

After this letter, we're even more curious to see how the award show will take place. We're certainly hopeful, since two women -- Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman) and Chloé Zhao (Nomadland) -- have been nominated for the Best Director category!
