Keeping up with the latest TV is hard when there are so many new and returning shows on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and premium, broadcast, and cable television. Fortunately, TV Guide Magazine has you covered with previews, recommendations, and premiere dates.
Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime
We've met Jack Ryan before, but never like this. Amazon Prime is the exclusive home of the latest adaptation of Tom Clancy's leading protagonist in a series that starts at the beginning of his career.
Across five films, we've leaped into action with a seasoned Jack Ryan, played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine. For his first episodic series, Jack Ryan is played by John Krasinski, who rose to fame in The Office and recently starred and directed the smash hit movie A Quiet Place.
Unlike the big screen versions, Krasinski's Ryan starts as a desk jockey at the CIA who is thrust into action when he's forced into the field. It's a decidedly different take on both the character and the story format that Amazon hopes Tom Clancy fans will eagerly stream.
Jack Ryan'slatest (and first) mission begins Friday, August 31st on Amazon Prime video.
Ozark Season 2 on Netflix
The dark, gripping Netflix drama Ozark returns for a hotly anticipated second season this Friday. While season one introduced us to Jason Bateman and Laura Linney as criminals in-over-their-heads, in round two they're in deeper than ever before.
To keep up with the mess they've made, the couple will focus on doing local deals in order to open a casino to, in turn, launder money for the cartel. It's safe to say that things are unlikely to end well.
You can start your Ozark season two binge on Friday, August 31st.
Greenleaf Season 3 on OWN
The Greenleafs return this week with a 2-part, season three premiere. The series follows the family behind a Memphis megachurch who are kind, caring, and upright on the surface, but greedy, backstabbing, and scandalous behind the scenes.
At the end of last season we learned that the bishop has been cheating on his wife, Lady Mae. To make matters worse, the woman he's been cheating with is her sister, played by Oprah Winfrey. As if that's not enough drama, the church has also been hit with a $2 million tax bill from the IRS.
Pray for the Greenleafs before the 2-night season three premiere, this Tuesday August 28th and Wednesday August 29th on OWN.
