Sabrina Returns, Just in Time for Halloween!
As you put the final touches on your Halloween costume, Netflix conjures two new shows to spook & awe you. If that's not your speed, PBS delivers the conclusion of another.
The Great American Read on PBS
The PBS series comes to a conclusion after its season-long tour of America’s favorite books. In the finale, we find out which book America chose as number one. Whether you chose the winner or any of the other featured works, the show’s mission has been accomplished.
Bodyguard on Netflix
On Wednesday October 24th, Richard Madden, who you might recognize as Game of Thrones’ Robb Stark, returns to American televisions.
Madden, alongside Keeley Hawes, stars in a gripping thriller imported from the BBC. He plays a police sergeant, and former war-veteran with PTSD, charged with protecting an ambitious politician whose politics represent everything he is against.
It’s only 6-episodes long and filled with enough twist and turns to keep you couch-bound for the duration of the binge.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix
With Halloween upon us, Netflix gives us an early treat with the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The first season drops on Friday, October 26.
You might be familiar with a long-running Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and, although it shares a central character, it is nothing like this interpretation. These Chilling Adventures live up to their name and are reminiscent of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Supernatural, or True Blood.
The series stars Kiernan Shipka, who you may recognize as Don Draper’s daughter on Mad Men. As an actress, and as Sabrina, she is now a full-on teenager tackling the macabre.
Be warned, this isn’t a show meant for young children.
