Who doesn't want to be a witch?
Taylor Hickson, Demetria McKinney and Ashley Nicole Williams are jacked about the female-centric show.
The stars shared why they're grateful for the opportunity to invest themselves in roles that they hope will serve as inspiration and empowerment to young girls and women.
Centered around the Witches of Salem, Motherland: Fort Salem follows women in a world where they're the leaders. The show features a virtually all-female cast and a talented group of women behind the camera as well.
"I didn't think making a second season could get better than the first time around, but you know, they went above and beyond. They topped it," Taylor Hickson said.
"I got a chance to watch the first two episodes and I was on the edge of my seat, like I hadn't been a part of it. Like, y'all are not ready! It's gonna be... I'm excited," Demetria McKinney said.
Resonating with the #SeeHer initiative, these young actresses are honored to portray badass women on screen for all audiences to witness vital representation on TV.
"That is my biggest thing, to be able to see yourself onscreen, and for me personally I feel like, for little black girls everywhere to see a black girl onscreen kicking ass, taking names and being a warrior, they're like... 'Wow - I can do that and I can be that too. Not only do we have a woman led and run cast, but our directors are mostly women as well and we have so many women in our crew... It's amazing," Ashley Nicole Williams said.
"When I was younger, I would you know, watch the women I idolized and think that you know, like I want to be like that when I grow up. I can give that feeling to other little girls like me," Hickson said.
"To see power and the magic and the work and the emotion all come together and be a part of that strength that is womanhood, I'm absolutely here for it," McKinney said.
