Jessica McNamee stars as Sonya Blade in the new film, which is based on the popular video game series!

"We tried to make the characters look as much like the characters in the video game and stay as true to the backstory of the characters and the kind of ins and outs of the 'Mortal Kombat' world."

The new film incorporating fight scenes and visual effects that'll leave audiences glued to the screen.

"So much of the fights that you see in different movies are CGI and green screen and blue screen, and there was a real point made by our director, Simon, to make all of this as authentic as possible."

With the movie opening both in theaters and on HBO Max, Jessica couldn't hold in her excitement to see how audiences react.

"I think there's been a lot of debate about whether these kind of streaming platforms will be the end of that cinema experience, and I just can't see that happening, because there's such a nostalgia for people going to the movies. I just think it'll be a whole different experience seeing it on the big screen."
