Missy Elliott obtained a big honor this week: a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
Missy Elliott is an outstanding rapper that began her career in the '90s and since then, she never stopped sharing her music with the world.
But today, she reached an ultimate achievement.
Elliott received a star on the prestigious Walk of Fame -- she appeared incredibly emotional and grateful while sharing an Instagram post with the following caption:
"This is a moment that I shall never forget & all the people who have been on this journey with me through my ups and downs & sickness I want you all to know how much you mean to me."
She also delivered a passionate speech in which she shouted out to the "godmothers" specifically Queen Latifah, Yo-Yo, MC Lyte, Monie Love, Sha-Rock, Angie Stone, Salt-N-Pepa, and Roxanne Shanté.
In the video of her acceptance, Missy Elliott cries for the moving moment she was experiencing and thanked the fans behind her, who were cheering loudly for her. But first of all, she thanked God:
"I wanna thank God first of all. There's time I've been sick: anxiety, depression... Through the grace of God and faith I kept going, if I hadn't I wouldn't be standing here."
She then continued thanking her mother for always supporting her and remembered those times when she thought she didn't want to be an artist. But then she ended up releasing six albums: the love for music was stronger than any disbelief she had.
Congratulations to Missy Elliott for this outstanding and well-deserved achievement.
