Vice President Mike Pence and his wife received the COVID19 vaccine in a televised appearance.

As Pfizer/BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccines have begun being administered in the United States, Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen Pence, as well as Surgeon General Jerome Adams were vaccinated Friday morning.

A "Medical Miracle"

In a televised appearance, Mike Pence received his vaccine in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building by a medical team member from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. In front of a sign that reads "Safe and effective,", he goes on to say how this vaccine is a "medical miracle," with vaccines usually taking eight to 12 years to create. He adds:

"We're on track here in the United States to administer millions of doses to the American people in less than one year. It is a miracle indeed."

Pence, who currently leads the coronavirus task force, wants to promote the confidence among citizens in getting the vaccine. In his short speech post-vaccine, he took the time to give his thanks:

"Thanks to the great work at the National Institute of Health, and the great and careful work of the FDA and the leadership of our president and Operation Warp Speed, the American people can be confident we have one, and perhaps within hours, two safe and effective coronavirus vaccines for you and for your family."

Those who have been vaccinated are to return to get the second part of the shot in 21 days. It is unclear if President Donald Trump has been vaccinated yet and according to NBC News, President-Elect Joe Biden is ready to receive his vaccine in the next week.
