Singer Meghan Trainor is now starring in a new NBCUniversal television series where she'll be dipping her toes in the world of scripted comedy.
A Creative Collaboration
NBCUniversal Television and Grammy Award winning singer Meghan Trainor announced their collaboration earlier this weekend. Trainor is set to star in and help develop a new sitcom that will pave the way for projects across the NBCUniversal world including NBC, E!, Peacock, and more.
Chairman of entertainment content for NBCU Susan Rovner spoke highly of Trainor stating,
"We love the idea of introducing Meghan into the world of scripted comedy as well as working with her to find all the creative and crazy ways she can engage with fans across our brands. With eight distinct platforms, we're able to provide the ultimate playground for multi-hyphenate artists, and this is just one of the ways we're leveraging our new structure to benefit both talent and audiences."
Trainor's Acting Reel
Trainor may be new to sitcoms, but isn't a stranger to the big screen in general. The world-renowned producer has voiced as SmurfMelody in Smurfs: The Lost Village (2017) alongside Danny Pudi, Joe Manganiello, Demi Lovato, Ariel Winter, Jack McBrayer, and Brandon Jeffords.
Trainor has also voiced Fairy Godmother in Playmobil: The Movie (2019) and Rainbow in Blue's Clues & You (2019-).
In speaking of her collaboration with NBCU, the "All About That Bass" singer stated,
"This collaboration with NBCUniversal is so beyond a dream come true. I'm obsessed with and inspired by Susan and can't wait to work with her and her incredibly talented team to bring our ideas to life."
Congratulations to Trainor on this amazing deal and we can't wait to see what's in store!
