New Music, New Sandra Oh & A New Episode Of 'The Mandalorian'

Happy Friday! As we head into the weekend, our Sonia Isabelle is here to break down the latest headlines on this week's episode of The Dish.


May the force be with you, Star Wars fans! It's hard to believe that it's been almost a year since we saw the return of young Luke Skywalker on screen in the second season of The Mandalorian. Now, Disney Plus is going to release a new behind-the-scenes episode of Disney Gallery: Star Wars: The Mandalorian. The second season of the hit series was well received by fans and critics alike. The stunning follow-up even received 24 nominations at the upcoming 73rd Annual Primetime Emmy awards, including Best Drama Series and Outstanding Writing For A Drama Series for the episode in question. According to a press release, the episode will feature "The story of the cutting-edge technology used to bring Luke back." In anticipation, Disney released a sneak peek of the upcoming episode:

This special episode will provide a never-before-seen look on the return of Mark Hamill on set of the season two finale, and it's coming sooner than you think. Disney Gallery: Star Wars: The Mandalorian – Making of the Season 2 Finale will premiere on August 25 exclusively on Disney Plus.

Shifting gears, on Netflix, Sandra Oh stars in the satirical comedy series The Chair. The 6-episode series was written and produced by actress Amanda Peet and co-produced by Peet's husband David Benioff and his Game of Thrones collaborator D.B Weiss. It follows Oh's character Professor Ji-Yoon Kim as she becomes the first woman to become chair at a prestigious university. The only problem is, Kim is the chair of the failing English department. Oh had this to say about the character:

"It was a joy to be able to, mostly, have a character that was so multidimensional and integrates, deeply, her ethnicity and her culture while just focusing on her trying to get through the day."

Oh is fresh off of her role in the critically acclaimed series Killing Eve which heads into its final season next year. For now, catch Oh in The Chair on Netflix, streaming now.

Attention Jonas Brothers fans! The trio is hitting the road for a memorable tour that fans won't forget. The 2021 "Remember This" Tour is named after their Olympic anthem. The "Happiness Begins" Tour was a huge success in 2019. Nick, Joe, and Kevin are sweeping the nation with the unforgettable "Remember This" Tour which kicks off today in Las Vegas.

In other music news, Lorde dropped her highly anticipated third studio album, Solar Power. Lorde made headlines this year after the title track accidentally got leaked. Let's hope the release of the full album wasn't a mistake. Along with the release of the album, Lorde announced a 2022 tour on her website. Solar Power is available now.

Country star Carly Pearce is taking the stage at the Ryman Auditorium to host the ACM Honors on August 25th. The prestigious award show which showcases country music's best will also be live-streamed by Circle on August 25th.
