The HBO original series Lovecraft Countryis canceled after only one season. In August of last year the season one finale episode set the record for the most watched new episode of an original series on HBO Max at 1.5 million viewers.
Season one was based off of a book by Matt Ruff by the same name of the series. There was no definite season two for the show since they would have to write an original story for the following season. After a group of writers got together to try and come up with a storyline that would continue the essence of Ruff's book, they decided that it would be best to not go through with another season.
Misha Green, who was a creator and producer of the show went to Twitter to post a teaser of what season two would have included.
A taste of the Season 2 Bible. Wish we could have brought you #LovecraftCountry: Supremacy. Thank you to everyone who watched and engaged. #noconfederatepic.twitter.com/BONbSfbjWg— Misha Green (@Misha Green) 1625273089
Although there won't be a second season of Lovecraft Country, Misha Green has just signed a deal with Apple to develop shows with AppleTV+.
