Lorraine Toussaint has been keeping very busy. She's currently co-starring with Queen Latifah in the CBS series "The Equalizer'" with Showtime's "Your Honor" going strong as well. With additional projects on her schedule, Lorraine is aware that it wasn't always easy for women, and women of color in particular, to achieve success and that more work needs to be done.

Nevertheless, Lorraine is confident that change will come. Lorraine points out the rise of women like Regina King as an example of the needle moving towards equality in media, with dynamic men and women creating and producing content.

"Hopefully, when more of us become empowered behind the scenes... creating product, this is how change comes about."

Lorraine has also involved herself with pushing for social change. As a mother, Lorraine was deeply stirred by the Black Lives Matter protests that took place after the death of George Floyd and wanted to participate with her son in some fashion. This lead her to create MothersandSons2020. The project features celebrity Black American mother and son duo's, including Blair Underwood and Aldis Hodge, conveying their message of community support and activism, including resources for voter registration.
