This LGBTQ+ Transportation App Is Changing the Game

LGBTQ+ride launches in June 2023 as a safe and friendly non-discriminatory alternative to apps such as Uber and Lyft.

Just in time for Pride month, LGBTQ+ride launches in June 2023 as a safe and friendly non-discriminatory form of transportation.

Founded by Stephen Ridl and Robert Taylor, LGBTQ+ride was founded to provide safe and secure transportation for members of the queer community and their allies.

"We know it's time for the LGBTQ+ community and our Allies to to feel comfortable and safe being themselves without worries or judgements. They deserve jobs without discrimination where it's encouraged to just be you," Ridl told The Advocate Channel.

In the last few years, attacks on gay, lesbian, and transgender rideshare users have increased around the world, making a world that was becoming safer and more welcoming to the queer community feel less so.

In addition to providing safer rides for the community, LGBTQ+ride will provide thousands of jobs for members of the community. As a pet-friendly and flexible work opportunity, LGBTQ+ride will be personally vetting each driver application to ensure community safety. Stephen and LGBTQ+ride plan to use the service as a one-stop hub for all local community news, advertising local queer-owned businesses, local events, and other local information for riders.

In an interview, Stephen said, "As active members of the community, we are reaching out to queer-owned businesses to amplify their events and businesses. The App will act as queer-friendly and safe city guides to each of our launch Cities, providing entertainment, community, and acceptance."

Founders Stephen and Robert are partners in life and business. "Robert and I have been partners for 12 years. We have shared so many wonderful memories together with our two fur babies. In sharing life, we have also shared our passions, and are both passionate about the LGBTQ+ community, our Allies, and their safety," he told us.
