The original Planes, Trains, & Automobiles film revolved around two businessmen (Steve Martin and the late John Candy) trying to get home for Thanksgiving from Chicago and continuously facing many travel disasters. The film is now being remade and starring Kevin Hart and Will Smith!
The remake will offer a modern take on the story while still focusing around the same general idea. Smith and Hart will have to overcome many obstacles in order to make it back home in time to have Thanksgiving with their families. The new version will be developed by Hart's HartBeat Productions and Westbrook Studios. Aeysha Carr will be writing the screenplay and Hart and Smith will be helping in producing the film.
Kevin Hart's Announcement
Hart first took to Instagram to announce that the power-duo will be working side by side. In his caption he wrote:
"I've been patiently waiting for the right project to team up with my brother with. We found it and are developing it together with our teams. This will be huge for us and the city of brotherly love aka Philadelphia..... let's goooooo @willsmith 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾"
