Kelly Ripa is set to release her first book a tell-all memoir touching on "personal essays" told by herself about her personal and professional life behind the scenes.
The Live with Kelly and Ryan host released in a statement what fans can expect in her book. "Full of her signature humor and wit, Live Wire will feature a collection of personal essays on childhood, motherhood, marriage, her career and the intersection of all the above—putting her thoughtfulness, assertiveness and deep understanding of the dynamics of gender and power on full display."
Day Street books announced Ripa's essay collection "Live Wire" is set to debut next year and will reveal what "really makes her tick" going in-depth with her marriage to Mark Consuelos, motherhood and her 35 year career in show business as a talk show host and actress.
"Whether recounting how she and Mark really met, the level of chauvinism she experienced on set, how Jersey Pride follows her wherever she goes, and many, many moments of utter mortification (whence she proves that you cannot, in fact, die of embarrassment) Kelly always tells it like it is. Ms. Ripa takes no prisoners," the publisher released.
The married couple of over 25 years who now share three children together, first met on the set of ABC's soap operaAll My Children where Ripa starred as Hayley Vaughn and Consuelos portrayed Mateo Santos who played love interests in 1995 and wed the following year. Ripa told People in 1999 her memorable first meeting with the un-kown actor. "I looked really gross," said Ripa, who quickly left to get ready after the initial encounter. "I wanted him to see me looking like a normal person!"
The New Jersey native went on to become a six-time Emmy award talk show host after landing her co-hosting role on Live! With Regis in 2001, eventually becoming Live! with Regis and Kelly. After hosting "Live" for a year with numerous guest co-hosts after Regis Philbin stepped down, Ryan Seacrest became a permanent host on Live With Kelly and Ryan in May 2017.
