Kelly Clarkson Receives Full Custody Of Her Kids

The singer has been in a longtime custody battle with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.

Kelly Clarkson has won full custody of her children after a longtime custody battle with previous husband Brandon Blackstock.

Clarkson has two kids of her own, along with two stepchildren that Blackstock had in a previous relationship. Her biological children, River and Remy, have been fought over for full custody by their parents for quite some time. Blackstock had originally wanted to split the children's time from L.A. to his Montana ranch, but now the kids will stay with Clarkson for the majority and see Blackstock on the first, third, and fourth weekends of the month - according to TMZ.

There are two conditions to this, however: one, Blackstock must be in L.A. for the first and fifth weekends he gets with his children, and two, both parents are prohibited from talking negatively about one another to their children - and they must not drink or smoke within eight hours of driving their children.

Laura Wasser represented Clarkson in the case, saying that having the kids go to Montana so much would negatively affect the children.

Clarkson was married to Blackstock for seven years before getting a divorce this past June. The two met in 2006 at the American Country Music Awards when Blackstock was manager for Rascal Flatts, according to Cosmopolitan. The two dated for just 10 months before he proposed to the singer.
