Kal Penn Aims To Empower Voters With New Show ‘Kal Penn Approves This Message’

Kal Penn Encourages Young People To Vote This Upcoming Election | Celebrity Page

Kal Penn joined us to talk about his new show on Freeform, Kal Penn Approves This Message.

The 2020 election is just around the corner and early voting has already started. Actor and comedian Kal Penn is doing his part to advocate for voting, stressing the importance of not only the presidential election, but local elections as well.

Kal Penn is perhaps best known for his roles in the Harold and Kumar film franchise, the television show House, and many more projects. However, Penn also held a position in the White House under the Obama administration from 2009 to 2017, where he was an associate director in the White House Office of Public Engagement.

In his new show on FreeformKal Penn Approves This Message, Penn returns to those political roots, but this time, in a political comedy aimed to be a non-partisan urge for young voters to participate in both federal and local elections. In the six-episode miniseries, Penn informs and empowers young voters with the information and tools they need to make a difference.

Penn joined us to talk about his message:

Your vote can make a huge difference. It's not just the presidential election, it's also local races . . . [local races] could be a difference of whether you and your ten friends actually showed up to vote.

Make sure to catch Kal Penn Approves This Message Tuesdays on Freeform or stream anytime on Hulu, and remember to vote in by November 3rd!
