Back in 2019, Bieber was having some struggles with his mental health and shared on social media a powerful statement that included references to several bible verses, such as John 3:16. He also shared insight on his personal religious journey, and what may have become his inspiration for this Gospel EP. "Jesus has given me freedom and the pursuit of getting to know his character is never ending," wrote Bieber at the time.

One of the more personal tracks on the EP is Justin Bieber's "We're In This Together", which just might be the source of positivity that the world needs right now.
