Universal Studio's Jurassic World: Dominion can resume filming on July 6 at London's Pinewood Studios.
Deadline broke the news that Universal spent $5 million on a safety plan to begin production. The plan includes on-site doctors and nurses, isolation booths, cast and crew training, and 150 hand sanitizer stations. Each evening, an anti-viral fog will be dispensed. All actors and crew members must follow strict guidelines being tested before returning to the set and while filming, and anyone who becomes ill or shows symptoms of COVID-19 will be isolated.
A studio executive stated:
"Cost isn't our main concern now: it's safety. We will take direction from our medical team, but we're confident that with the staggered scheduling and zones of talent and crew, along with a system of contact tracing, we can move forward with limited delay in production."
Production of the film was suspended on March 13 and will feature stars from the original Jurassic Park including Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern. Colin Trevorrow, who directed the first Jurassic World film, is at the helm once again for this installment.
Jurassic World: Dominion is expected to hit theaters on June 11, 2021.
