Academy-award nominated actor Jonathan Pryce, from The Two Popes and Game of Thrones, is set to become the newest and final actor to portray Prince Phillip in the critically acclaimed Netflix Original series, The Crown.
Acting alongside Imelda Staunton, who is set to portray Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the show, Pryce will fill in as the oldest and present version of Prince Phillip. In the past, two younger actors have portrayed the role of the Queen's husband to account for the specific time eras. First, it was Matt Smith of Doctor Who and then Tobias Menzies, known best for his role in Outlander.
Pryce will now take over the role for its fifth and sixth seasons, which are set to air sometime in 2022. Not only does Pryce have an extensive career on screen, he has a Tony award under his belt for portraying the role of the Engineer in Miss Saigon back in 1991.
While you wait to see Pryce's performance in The Crown, you can watch all four seasons now on Netflix!
