It looks like Jack Sparrow won’t be appearing on the big screen anytime soon.
On May 15, Jerry Bruckheimer, producer of Pirates of the Caribbean, opened up about the Johnny Depp's future involvement with the franchise.
He told The Sunday Times
"Not at this point. The future is yet to be decided."
Bruckheimer shared that he is currently working on two more films for the franchise. Though Depp might not be featured in them, we might get a glimpse of a familiar face. He confirmed that he is in talks with Margot Robbie to be in one of the two upcoming films.
Bruckheimer’s comments come in the midst if Depp’s defamation trial against Amber heard. He has sued his ex-wife for $50 million, claiming that she ruined his reputation after making false accusations of domestic abuse. Heard has filed a countersuit against Depp for $100 million.
