NYC nightlife is coming back and so is #JohnMulaney! Read here for more information about upcoming stand-up shows.

Stand-up comedian John Mulaney has announced his first stand-up shows since checking into rehab late last year.

Named "John Mulaney: From Scratch", the five performances will take place from May 10-14 at New York City's Winery during his residency. Tickets are on sale now.

Mulaney first checked himself into rehab for sixty days in December 2020, "seeking treatment after relapsing following a decades-long battle with addiction," People reported. In February, Mulaney checked out of rehab. A source told Page Six at this time:

"John has completed 60 days in rehab and now he's in outpatient sober care. He is doing well, although he is still not ready to return to work."

Mulaney has previously been open about struggles with alcohol and drug addiction, during stand-up specials and to Esquire magazine in 2019. He told them:

"I drank for attention. I was really outgoing, and then at 12, I wasn't. I didn't know how to act. And then I was drinking, and I was hilarious again. I never liked smoking pot. Then I tried cocaine, and I loved it.

Now it seems as though everyone's favorite comedian is doing better and ready to get back to work. The City Winery shows requires attendees to be either fully vaccinated or have received a negative Covid test within 72 hours prior to the event.
