Audiences have long embraced Jennifer Garner as one of America's best-loved actresses. Her latest role in the new family comedy from Netflix, "Yes Day," is likely to further endear her to fans young and old. Like her character in the film, Jennifer has to engineer the challenges of motherhood and a demanding career. Is there a secret sauce to keeping all the balls in the air? Jennifer says yes!
Speaking about "Yes Day," Jennifer explains how after looking back on some of her recent projects, she decided she wanted to do a film that would bring joy to the screen. Based on the book by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld, "Yes Day" is about how a stressed out family re-discovers fun by eliminating the word "No" for 24 hours and indulge in the power of yes.
As a mother of three herself, Jennifer faces those same stressors and demands of finding the right work/ life balance. In addition to her award-winning work in film and television, Jennifer is active in philanthropy as a proponent for early childhood learning and as an advocate against the exploitation of children. She is also the co-founder of the organic baby-food company Once Upon a Farm which offers healthy alternatives to parents who prefer fresh, unprocessed nutrition for their children but don't have the time to prepare it themselves. That is a full dance card by any standard, but as the subject of today's #SeeHER spotlight, Jennifer has a unique philosophy in negotiating those demands, stating simply, "Go gentle on yourself."
So, if you're looking for a little joy, go gentle on yourself and check out "Yes Day," available for streaming now on Netflix.
