It has been more than a year since Broadway closed its doors and turned off its lights amid the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020. Now, as life returns to normalcy, shows and stars are coming back. Jeff Daniels will reprise his role as Atticus Finch in To Kill A Mockingbird.
Aaron Sorkin's play To Kill A Mockingbird, an adaptation of the classic Harper Lee story is setting the stage once again on October 5th at New York City's Shubert Theatre. Jeff Daniels will also return to the stage sporting a cream colored suit, circle glasses, and into the courtroom as he reprises his iconic role of Atticus Finch.
Daniels has become the latest A-list celebrity to return to Broadway after the pandemic, alongside his Tony-award winning co-star Celia Keenan-Bolger, who will resume portraying Scout Finch. Absent from this year's production, however, is producer Scott Rudin, coming after several allegations of abusive and bullying workplace behavior. Replacing Rudin as executive producer will be Orin Wolf, who will oversee all aspects of the production, effective immediately.

Before the Broadway shutdown, To Kill a Mockingbird on Broadway grossed more than $125 million as performances played at standing-room-only theatres.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and the Broadway League announced that the theatre industry will open its doors and brighten stages to full capacity starting September 14.
