"Selling Sunset" has its first-ever reunion...And it already has Jason Oppenheim in tears.
In the exclusive clip from the special, premiering May 6, Oppenheim breaks down while discussing the end of his relationship with co-star Chrishell Stause.
When host Tan France asks whether or not their relationship was purely for the cameras, Jason scoffed at the idea, answering,
"I hesitate to answer that question. I don't want to give it any credence. That's like asking me if the Earth is flat. It's a stupid question to me. I don't feel the need to explain to people that…"
He broke down, eliciting shock from the rest of the cast, some who claimed to have "never seen Jason sad." Stause also teared up as her co-stars comforted Jason, who composed himself and continued,
"There's a lot of sadness and loss. I think watching the show made it more difficult. It brought it all back up. It's been a few months, but I'm still just going through stuff. There was a lot of love between us and there still is. I still care about her very much. This has been a very difficult break-up."
Oppenheim and Stause's relationship was a key storyline for season five of "Selling Sunset." The two announced they were dating in July 2021, before breaking up in December 2021 over disagreements about having children.
As recently as April, Jason has admitted to "still loving" Chrishell. After the break-up, Chrishell wrote in an Instagram post,
"Jason was and is my best friend, and other than our ideas for family ultimately not being aligned, the amount of respect and love we have for each other will not change going forward."
Catch all of the tears when the "Selling Sunset" season five reunion premieres May 6 on Netflix.
