The film was originally slated to release last June before it was postponed due to the pandemic. Because of this, the film will also premiere on HBO Max at the same time it hits theaters. It will be available for streaming for 31 days.
Buzz about the movie has resurfaced after two trailers were released about a week ago. The film tells the story of a bodega owner in Washington Heights and his feelings about giving up his store after deciding to pursure his dreams in going to the island that his parents called home.
The film will feature stars such as Anthony Ramos (Hamilton), Lin Manuel Miranda himself, Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn 99), Christopher Jackson (Hamilton), and more.
We can't wait for the film, and are hoping for a safer, more open theatre experience by the time June 11 rolls around!
