I'm Your Woman had its premiere at the AFI Festival and will be available to audiences soon.
Rachel Brosnahan—known for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, House of Cards, Blacklist, and more—stars in a new Amazon Original film directed by Julia Hart. The film also features Frankie Faison, Marsha Stephanie Blake, and Bill Heck.
The film is set in the 1970s and follows a woman named Jean that is forced to go on the run with her baby after her husband commits crimes. Jean meets people along the way who guide her in more ways than one and teach her crucial survival skills. Beautifully shot and designed, as evident in the trailer, with a gripping story, the film also serves as a symbolic representation of womanhood.
In an interview, when asked about the likeness of the story to her previous film, Fast Color, another story of a woman on the run, Julia Hart stated:
So much of the world is against women or wants women to fail, or doesn't want us to succeed or come into our power. I often feel like we're constantly on the run and having to rescue ourselves, and give ourselves permission to come into our own powers since the world doesn't always seem to want us to.
Watch the film on December 11 on Amazon Prime.
