Hometown Celebrities: First Responders Fighting West Coast Wildfires

From California to Washington State, amber smoke fills the skies as citizens and first responders are working tirelessly to put out the fires.

The West Coast wildfires have raged for weeks now, and we're taking some time to thank the first responders who are putting their lives on the line to save their communities.

From California to Washington State, amber smoke fills the skies as citizens and first responders are working tirelessly to put out the fires. Many life-long West Coasters have described the situation as "unprecedented" as the fires continue burning at an alarming rate. However, despite the hard times, there are still stories of heroism worth noting.

More stories of heroism come are being told as the West Coast battles the fires. In California, a group of hikers were stranded as fires burned around them. As the fires grew closer, and park ranger came to their aid and drove them out of the area. One man is a pediatric surgeon in the Bay Area, but serves as a volunteer firefighter. Another firefighter, who lost his home in the fires, is staying behind and continuing to work.

Thankfully, one new documentary, Kiss The Ground, is explaining a new way to fight climate change and help the planet.

The directors of the film, Rebecca and Josh Tickell, told us about the forward initiative:

"Good news for a change! Humanity has a pathway forward, and it's called regenerative agriculture."

Woody Harrelson narrates the film and offers solutions on how to reverse our climate crisis.

The film, featuring stars like Gisele Bündchen, Ian Somerhalder and David Arquette, is streaming now on Netflix.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who have been affected by the devastating fires, and we will continue to highlight hometown celebrities across the country.
