From Brooklyn Nine-Nine To Marvel's 'What If?...' It's A Big Week For TV Premieres

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Brooklyn Nine-Nineis officially coming to an end. Season eight will be premiering Thursday August 12th on NBC and available for streaming on Peacock. With the final season fans can expect just as many laughs as the other seasons, but maybe mixed with some tears this time. Advocate Channel Senior Correspondent Arthur Kade talked with the cast about how the show became so iconic, Stephanie Beatriz noted,

"I think a lot of that has to do with Andy Samberg's sensibility and his sense of humor, and also the kind of just human being that he is."

Andre Braugher agreed with Beatriz and also went further,

"I would only add that the show continues to grow because the characters continue to grow. You learn new things about them every episode."

The L Word: Generation Q

The hit series, The L Word: Generation Qwill be returning August 8th for season two on Showtime. The show is a reboot of the original series, The L Word. The new version was made to celebrate a new generation of LGBTQ+ love.

Fantasy Island

Another reboot is premiering Tuesday August 10th on FOX. The original Fantasy Islandran on ABC from 1977-1984 and is now back with a new boss Roselyn Sánchez. She has talked about how meaningful it is to her that the head of the island is a woman, saying "it is our time".

Cribs

MTV is bringing back the legendary show Cribs. Even since the show ended in 2009, it is still one of the most talked about reality shows, taking viewers inside the private homes of their favorite stars. The network decided to reboot the show, and it will premiere Wednesday August 11th on MTV.

What If...?

Marvel is coming out with their first ever animated series, What If...? All your favorite characters from different Marvel films will come together as a part of the project. The show will be available for streaming starting Wednesday August 11th on Disney+.
