In a sneak preview for A&E's upcoming docuseries Secrets of Playboy, Holly Madison shines some light on life in the mansion, claiming she and some of the other bunnies felt they were being "gaslit" and "isolated" from the outside world.

Madison shares with viewers what it was really like to live in the renowned manor alongside the late Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. She eluded to the point that everything wasn’t what it seemed from the outside looking in.

Holly explains in the snippet,

"The reason I think the mansion was very cult-like looking back on it is because we were all kind of gaslit and expected to think of Hef as like this really good guy, and you started to feel like, 'Oh, he's not what they say in the media, he's just a nice man.”

There was always someone in the mansion, but Madison claims she often felt alone. She said,

"Another thing that reminds me of a cult is how easy it is to get so isolated from the outside world there, you had a 9 o'clock curfew. You were encouraged to not have friends over. You weren't really allowed to leave unless it was like a family holiday."

Madison claimed that she originally wanted to keep her waitressing job so that if her Playboy career didn't work out, she’d have "something easy to go back to". Even though she only worked on one day a week, Madison explained,

“Hugh said it made him jealous, and he would appreciate it if I would quit my job. So instead, we were given $1,000 a week as an allowance."

Playboy released a previous statement,

The Hefner family is no longer associated with Playboy."
