Hillary Clinton Opens Up About "Gutsy" Decision to Stay With Bill Clinton

Apple TV+

Hillary Clinton is feeling gutsy.

The former Secretary of State is taking the road with her daughter, Chelsea, in their new show, Gutsy, to highlight women who inspire them to be “bolder and braver.”

The eight-part docuseries features a variety of empowering conversations with female pioneers-- actresses, activists, community leaders and more-- celebrating their leadership and strength.

With the premiere of the show just two weeks away, Apple TV+ recently released the official trailer, giving us a peek at some of the influential women we’ll see on our screens. The long list of trailblazers includes Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson, Wanda Sykes, Kim Kardashian, Megan Thee Stallion and Jane Goodall, just to name a few.

But the show also appears to be giving insight into Clinton’s marriage with former president Bill Clinton.

In one clip, the former senator chats with Reverend Whittney Ijanaten about her decision to stay with her husband, following his very public affair with White House aide Monica Lewinsky.

“You have a marriage that has been on public display since the beginning,” Ijanaten says, adding, “You said the gutsiest thing you ever did was stay in your marriage.”

Nodding in response, Clinton answers, “That doesn’t mean it's right for everybody.”

The series is based on the Clintons’ New York Times bestselling book, The Book of Gutsy Women, which was released in 2019.

Gutsy will premiere September 9 on Apple TV+
