Hilary Duff Looked Back at Her “Anxiety-Inducing” 2003 Vanity Fair Cover Shoot

Hilary Duff Takes a Lie Detector Test | Vanity Fair

"I remember being like, This is cool I was included in this."

Hilary Duff is taking us on a nostalgic trip back to 2003!

The "Lizzie McGuire" star, 34, recalled the "anxiety-inducing" experience of gracing a star-studded Vanity Fair cover. While taking a lie-detector test with the outlet, Duff reflected back on the 'It's Totally Raining Teens!' fold-out cover.

She said,

"I remember being like, 'This is cool I was included in this,' but no, this was a very high stress, anxiety-inducing day."

The 2003 cover defined an 'It girl' era, featuring Duff, Mandy Moore, Amanda Bynes, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Alexis Bledel, Evan Rachel Wood, Raven-Symoné, and Lindsay Lohan at the dawn of their illustrious careers.

Duff was 15 years old, wrapping up "Lizzie McGuire" and embarking on a movie career with "Cheaper by the Dozen" and "A Cinderella Story" on the horizon. She was also fresh off her breakup with Aaron Carter and seemingly in the midst of a public feud with Lohan.

It is unclear as to whether Duff and Lohan have reconciled, but the "How I Met Your Father" star did share that she's "great friends" with Moore, saying:

"Mandy and I are great friends now, so this is very funny,"

Duff's husband, Matthew Koma, and Moore's husband, Taylor Goldsmith, have been friends for the past year, and the musicians write songs together. Music helped the "Come Clean" singer bond with the "This Is Us" star as a mom, too.

"Hilary is a close friend, and she has a daughter who is six weeks younger than Gus," Moore, 37, explained during a February appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show." "She's like super mom — she has three kids — but she decided to start hosting this music class at her house. There's lots of other new moms in our group: Meghan Trainor, Ashley Tisdale."
