Here's What to Expect in Season 4 of 'Succession'

HBO

Jesse Armstrong, the series creator of "Succession," recently opened up about the upcoming fourth season of the hit HBO show at the 2022 BAFTA TV Awards.

At the 2022 BAFTA TV Awards, Armstrong confirmed to Variety that he and his team of writers are “nearly done” writing season four of 'Succession.' Armstrong shared that his American writers on the team went to London, saying,

“They’re a really great group of people to talk about the nuances of characters and the world and what we’re doing on the show.”

Armstrong noted that after they put the final touches on the script, they will share it with the cast to get their feedback. Armstrong went on to say that the cast is “smart" and they have opinions "about their characters.”

Matthew MacFadyen, who plays Tom Wambsgans in "Succession," won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 2022 BAFTA TV Awards. Armstrong accepted the award on thestar's behalf.

Season three ended with a major cliffhanger, with MacFadyen’s character betraying his wife, Shiv Roy (Sarah Snook), and her siblings by warning their father, Logan Roy (Brian Cox), that his children intended to use their veto power to prevent the sale of the Waystar Royco company. This then causes Logan to act against his children.

The season three finale left everyone’s relationship in uncertainty but will lead to numerous opportunities for more drama in the upcoming season.

Without revealing too much information about what is to come in season four and if the upcoming season will be the last, the series creator said, “I won’t answer that one precisely, I don’t think it should go on forever. But we’re still having fun at the moment.”

"Succession" is available to stream on HBO Max.
