Murphy shares how McRory's death impacted the newest season of the show.

Before the filming of Peaky Blinders' sixth and final season began in January 2021, Helen McCrory stepped down from her role as Aunt Polly as she was battling breast cancer. McCrory passed away of cancer on April 16th, 2021 in London.

Aunt Polly's storyline will not be followed in the upcoming season. The character was known for holding the Shelby family together, and it seemed she was just about to get her own happy ending.

British Esquirerecentlyinterviewed show star Cillian Murphy, in which he discussed the tragic passing of his co-star.

He said:

"We were just reeling throughout the whole thing. She was a dear, dear pal and she was the beating heart of that show, so it felt very strange being on set without her."

The actress is survived by her husband Damian Lewis and their two sons, Manon, 15, and Gulliver, 14.
