Get ready to go back to school in the new HBO Max series Head of the Class.
That's right the classic sitcom Head of the Class is getting the revival treatment.
The revival stars Isabella Gomez who fans may recognize from her role on the hit series One Day At a Time. Coincidentally, this series for which she is most notable also happens to be a revival of a classic sitcom. Clearly, Gomez is no stranger to bringing old shows back to life. We sat down with Gomez to learn more about Head of the Class:
"This version is really cool. We have the coolest cast of kids. I love that all of these characters have such perspective and they're so unique and so layered and so funny. And then we have Ms. Alicia Gomez who is a mess."
Although the show is a fresh take on the original, there will be some familiar faces. Most importantly, fans will be happy to see the return of original cast member Robin Givens.
"It was so cool to work with her. She is hilarious and so lovely and so warm."
That was Gomez on working with Givens.
Gomez added:
"We just all auditioned and whoever was best for the role got it and originally Alicia was Alicia Adams and now she is Alicia Gomez and so I think that's really cool. I really enjoy and respect the fact that they were able to shift and move around because it wasn't about ethnicities or anything like that. It was about who could bring this character to life best."
Not only is this reboot a refreshing take on a beloved classic, but it is filled with diversity and representation. Stream Head of the Class on HBO Max now.
