Harry Styles is taking his style to Gucci! On June 20, during Milan Fashion Week, Gucci’s creative director, Alessandro Michele, announced that the former One Directioner is releasing a new collection with the luxury brand called "HA HA HA."
The pair has joined forces to create 25 unique looks, which Michele referred to as their “dream wardrobe.”
Styles, of course, is no stranger to Gucci; he has been wearing the brand, publicly, for years and has also been featured in multiple campaigns. Styles met Michele at the start of his solo career, following his separation from One Direction.
Michele shared one of the things he admires most about the singer, reflecting on his
“ability to combine items of clothing in a way that is out of the ordinary compared to the required standards of taste and common sense and the homogenization of appearance.”
The two began creating their collection, rather casually, through the international texting application, WhatsApp.
Michele told GQ, “It started just like two kids playing, you know, in a very easy way.”
A dream of having a collection with vintage aesthetic and a theme of gender fluidity, eventually led into the marriage of their ideas that are now seen in the 70s-inspired array of shirts, pants, outerwear, and accessories, set to be released in the collection.
The collection is, overall, an homage to their friendship, even the name, HA HA HA, is an embodiment of it. ‘HA’ is derived from the first initials of Harry’s name, and it is also how the two sign off their messages to each other.
The luxury brand collection showcases some of its looks on Gucci’s Instagram and will also be available for purchase in October 2022.
