While he is officially no longer a member of the royal family as of earlier this year, his ties with this cause have not been severed. On Tuesday, Archewell Productions, Harry and Meghan's foundation, announced the new series. Oscar-winning documentarians Orlando Von Einsiedel and Joanna Natasegara will be spearheading the series.

The Invictus Games were once set to take place in 2020 but were postponed to 2022 due to the pandemic.

The Duke of Sussex joins Invictus Games competitors in a video that the foundation posted to Twitter. "To the key workers on the frontlines in the battle against the pandemic, we are with you," he says.

"Since the very first Invictus Games back in 2014, we knew that each competitor would contribute in their own exceptional way to a mosaic of resilience, determination, and resolve," said Harry in a statement about the docuseries. "This series will give communities around the world a window into the moving and uplifting stories of these competitors on their path to the Netherlands next year."

The release date for Heart of Invictus has yet to be announced.
