"Guardians of the Galaxy" fans are begging Marvel to recast Chris Pratt's role as Star-Lord. Director James Gunn isn't having it...

The filmmaker was seen Monday on Twitter responding to a viral tweet a fan put out considering that Marvel should put look-alike Patrick Wilson in Pratt's role of Star-Lord.

Gunn shot back, tweeting:

“For what? Because of your made-up, utterly-false beliefs about him? For something that someone else told you about him that’s not true? Chris Pratt would never be replaced as Star-Lord but, if he ever was, we would all be going with him.”

Another tweet from a user provoked Gunn, this time asking the director if he was “cool” with Pratt attending an infamously anti-LGBTQ church. His answer:

"He isn’t. I know the church he currently goes to. Do you? (The answer is you don’t, but you heard from someone who heard from someone who heard from someone where he goes to church, so decided, ‘yeah, okay, I’ll believe this terrible thing I heard online about this celebrity!’)”

Pratt has returned the favor for Gunn as he was kicked from the “Guardians” franchise over past offensive tweets that were resurfaced by far-right figures. The "Guardians" cast pleaded to get him reinstated with an open letter, leading him back on his feet to make "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3."

In the meantime, you can catch Pratt co-star with Chris Hemsworth in "Thor: Love and Thunder," as it hits theaters July 8, 2022.
